Micah Turns Four Months Old

Little Micah is four months old today! I am amazed at how quickly the time has passed.

Micah continues to be a smiley, easy-going little guy, and loves attention. About two weeks ago, he laughed for the first time. His laughs are still not an everyday occurrence, but are becoming more frequent as he grows older. Joshua and Abigail can hardly wait to make him laugh, especially Joshua who is really into physical comedy.

He is still my snuggle bug, consistently enjoying a good cuddle more than my other did by this age.

Everyday Micah's sleep gets a little bit better.  He sleeps in his own bed now, and has finally figured out how to sleep for more than just a few minutes without being held. There are times when he will sleep for a good 7 hour stretch, but these have not become the norm yet.
 
I do love that he sleeps for 12 hours at night, going immediately back to sleep after feedings. Now we just need to move his bed time to a reasonable time of night. In the last two weeks we have gone from being up until after midnight to going down for the night at around 10:30pm. It can only get better from here, right?

Next week he will visit the Health Visitor again for a well visit. We'll get an update on his stats and he will get his next round of immunizations. I'll let you know how big he has gotten.

What I know now is that he is a good eater, and has grown too tall for most of his clothes.

He continues to be a cheerful, sweet blessing and we are so thankful that he is part of our family.

Beef Sesame Noodles

This recipe has become one of our favorites. It is based on Miss Mommy's recipe, but altered to fit my family's veggie preference.
  •     1/4 c soy sauce
  •     1/2 c beef broth
  •     1 Tbsp grated fresh ginger
  •     2 tsp dark sesame oil
  •     1/4 tsp sugar
  •     14-oz green beans (I sometimes use frozen, but wok them before the other veggies)
  •     1 onion, sliced into wedges
  •     1/4 pound mushrooms, quartered
  •     1/2 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef, cut into 2 inch strips
  •     10-oz Japanese curly noodles
  •     1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
Combine first 5 ingredients for sauce.
Wok the veggies in oil until tender.
Cook noodles while veggies are frying.
Stir in beef and sauce to the veggies.
Add noodles and mix well.
Top with sesame seeds and serve.
