Menu Plan Monday

We have several repeats from last week. My hubby did much of the cooking and chose easier meals. It was a rough week for me. I have had constant headaches for almost two weeks, and at least 3 full migraines this week. Whew! I'm wiped! This is only the second time that my migraines have gotten this bad ... that I have felt this desperate.

I will be, once again, starting a pretty crazy regiment for the next few weeks and months to get this under control again ... including, the eye doctor, the migraine doctor, natural remedies, diet change, strict sleep habits, exercise, etc. The only problem is that changing everything at once... I won't know what worked to fix things.  I effectively stopped (or at least slowed) my migraines about five years ago, but have become too lax on my habits. I'll let you know how it goes.

We will hopefully get a chance to try the new recipe the from last week for Talapia Parmesan. I got the link from McReal Estate, the blog of fellow-expat's parents. We'll be trying it with frozen cod, instead (there is no talapia in Scotland).

Finally to the menu for this week!

Happy Monday!

  1. Keeping my fingers crossed that you can find the right combination of habits, etc. to get those migraines under control. If you did it before, you can do it again!

  2. I am so bummed about your headaches and can only imagine how debilitating they are. Way to go, Darren, for stepping in and being a stud in the kitchen!!

Looking forward to spending time together at Holiday Club and next week when Joshua and Rebekah go back to nursery- yikes!

  3. I am so sorry to hear your migraines have returned! I'll be praying that something will work.

  4. Hi Christy - I'm new to your blog, so forgive the sort of un-asked-for advice, but have you ever had your thyroid checked? I spent over 20 years suffering from awful migraines that hit 1-2 times per week. Finally, I had a doc that checked my thyroid, found out my thyroid was basically on strike, and corrected it. Since then, I do get a migraine every now and then (maybe 4 or 5 in the last 2 years) that are completely managable with a couple of ibuprofen. It has been wonderful!

I've done a little googling since then, and apparently there IS a known link between migraine and thyroid issues, but none of my doctors had ever put two and two together before!
