Duthie Park Winter Gardens

This weekend we finally made it to Duthie Park to check out the Winter Gardens. We have planned on making this two-bus trip at least twice before, but circumstances (can you say "being sick") have prevented us.

Duthie Park is a large, public park on the south side of Aberdeen. The facilities include a bandstand, fountains, ponds, and statues. Also within the park are the David Welch winter gardens, which were rebuilt in 1970. These large greenhouses contain many exotic plants including the largest collection of cacti in Britain.

We had a wonderful time. I have so many pictures and so many fun stories of the kids. I will be talking about this outing in several posts throughout the week.

Hopefully I will be posting about our trip all week, but in the mean time, check out my photo album on that contains most of our pictures from the day: Duthie Winter Gardens - March 2010
