Peas, peas, peas!

While we were in the grocery store this week, a lady stocking produce offered Joshua a pea pod full of peas. I helped him open it and he ate a few little peas. This inspired me to pick up a hand full of pea pods to open at home.

Joshua had so much fun opening each pod. Every time he would ask, "What is inside, Mommy?" Then he would break it open and exclaim "PEAS!"

He was not convinced that he wanted to eat the peas.
It was more fun playing with them.

I remember shucking peas as a kid, sitting out on our deck on a sunny day with a bucket of peas that had to be ready for dinner before we could go play again. It really is a fond memory for me ... maybe because I love fresh peas so much.

It is so fun exploring new foods with the kids!

I love ALL the stories that give me a chance to "watch" my grandchildren. Thank you, Christy!
