Three weeks old...

Has it really been three weeks since our little girl was born? It has flown by so quickly.

We are all doing well. Tomorrow Darren will be finishing his last paper from winter semester. He is looking forward to the new semester that begins on January 28.

Joshua is adjusting well to life as a big brother. Every morning he calls out her name and has to go see her, even if she is sleeping. Darren and I are learning how to balance giving him enough attention and teaching him to be patient.

Abigail has been wonderful. She still has her days and nights upside down, but it is slowly getting better. Her weight is back up above her birth weight and she is doing very well.

I am feeling a little sleep-deprived, but doing well. It is taking time to learn how to balance the care of my little ones with caring for myself. We also need to figure out how to better manage our schedule, so they don't both need to eat at the same time.

In spite of the exhaustion, we are very happy and thankful for our sweet little kids, Joshua and Abigail. God is good!

Welcome, Baby Abigail!

Announcing the birth of

ABIGAIL ANNE SUMNER
5 pounds 15 ounces
19 inches long

January 5, 2008
at 7:50 a.m.

Mom and baby are both doing great, and will be coming home Monday morning. Labor built steadily on Friday evening and all through the night, and we decided to leave for the hospital at 7 a.m. We arrived at 7:30, and Abigail was born at 7:50.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. For those in the Princeton area, visits are welcome on Sunday afternoon (please call first).

Two weeks to go...

My due date is now less than two weeks away. This little girl will be here so soon! Everything is going well. I am feeling pretty good these days, though a little tired.

I finally washed all the little pink clothes, so she will have something to wear. And the infant car seat is ready to be loaded into the car tomorrow. I still need to pack my bag for the hospital, and get a few things ready for Joshua. Otherwise, I think we are ready...

Darren is pushing hard to get his papers and finals done as soon as possible. Joshua and I have been a little distracting for him, but he is making progress. His papers are due a few days after our due date, so he is hoping that she comes a little late...

Merry Christmas!

We had a quite Christmas this year. With our little girl due on January 15, we decided it was best not to travel. We just took a relaxing break from the busyness of life to enjoy spending time together as a family.

Joshua loved the Christmas lights everywhere. Each morning he would run into the living room and point at the tree and other decoration around requesting that we turn on the lights. It is so fun to enjoy the world through the eyes of a two year old.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
