Terhune Orchards has Fall Family Fun Festival Weekends through the end of October. So this weekend we headed to the farm to enjoy the festivities.
The horses are still his favorite attraction whenever we visit. For the festivals, they have several ponies available for rides in addition to their regular farm horse.
Too bad we didn't have time for a pony ride, though he probably would not have ridden willingly.
We also spent time at the pumpkin patch! Abigail and Joshua both had so much fun looking at all the pumpkins and picking the perfect ones to take home.
We left with two very nice, little pumpkins to decorate our home for fall. I think we will stick with markers and paint this year, instead of trying to safely carve them with an impatient 2 year old (whose new favorite phrase is "Joshua do himself").
The whole family got to enjoy the fresh apples we bought at the orchard when I made apple crisp for dessert tonight. Maybe next time we will try the "Pick Your Own" option for apples.
We had a wonderful day and the weather was perfect (sunny, in the high 60's)! I'm sure we will be back out there again before the weather changes.
