Great-Grandma is reading Green Eggs and Ham to Joshua and Cousin Evan.
As many of you know, I took a trip to Northwest with Joshua and Abigail in March while Darren was off on his yearly adventure in Vancouver, B.C. to visit the set of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis.
We had a nice time with family. Joshua had so much fun playing with his cousins. Cousin Evan is just a few months younger than Joshua and is very friendly. It was great to watch how they played together. Evan is more outgoing than Joshua and can get a little aggressive. He is the one who first taught Joshua how to stick up for himself. We also had the chance to spend time more time with Cousin Isaac, who is five years old. He was so proud to be the big cousin who could help with baby Abigail. I also got to see my littlest nephew, Sammy, who I hadn't seen since he was 5 weeks old.
Joshua also enjoyed some good bonding time with Grandpa and Grandma. On Saturday Grandpa took Joshua outside for chores. They fed the big goldfish in pond together. Then Joshua got to ride in the wheelbarrow full of fern branches while Grandpa wheeled them to the burn pile. They hung out down by the lake together, talking about the water and the boats and the ducks. Joshua now brings up water and goldfish every time we mention Grandpa.
Everyone got to meet Abigail for the first time... she loved all the attention. She stayed so cheerful and easy going through it all. She is much more social than Joshua was at her age. I remember when Joshua was this age and I took him to see family. He reached a point where he just didn't want to be held any more and cried when anyone picked him up.
I had a wonderful time with my parents and sisters. It has been too long since we were able to just hang out together.
P.S. - More pictures from our trip coming soon!
